Food!

Sorry I went off the deep end at day 8, I just got kinda board writing about my favorite things! Anyway, I have a new recipe I tried a few days ago. We had another couple over for dinner and I made a Pioneer Woman recipe. If you don't know who the Pioneer Woman is, you must go to her website right this minute because ALL her food is delicious! I made her Penne a la Betsy, so so good!
I did make a few changes to it though. I used chicken instead of shrimp, because Josh doesn't like shrimp in his pasta, weird I know. This is one of my favorite pasta recipes ever!

Ingredients

  • ¾ pounds Penne Pasta
  • 1 pound Shrimp
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 whole Onion (small)
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • ½ cups White Wine (or To Taste)
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce (8 Oz)
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • Fresh Parsley, to taste
  • Fresh Basil - To Taste
  • Salt To Taste
  • Pepper To Taste

Preparation Instructions

Cook the penne pasta until tender-firm, also known as al dente.

Peel, devein and rinse (under cool water) 1 pound of extra large shrimp. Heat about 1 tbsp. butter and olive oil in a skillet. Add the shrimp and cook for a couple minutes until just opaque. Do not overcook them. Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes. Now, put the cooked shrimp on the cutting board and pull off the tails. Chop the shrimp into bite –sized pieces and set aside.

Finely dice one small onion. Mince two cloves of garlic.
In a large skillet heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons olive oil. Add the garlic and onion and sauté, stirring occasionally. After the garlic and onions have cooked a bit add your white wine. Let the wine evaporate for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. If you would rather not use wine, you can use low-sodium chicken broth instead (about ½ cup).

Now add an 8-ounce can of plain tomato sauce. Stir well until combined. Then add 1 cup of heavy cream. Continue stirring. Turn heat down to low and let simmer.

Now chop your herbs, about a tablespoon of chopped parsley and about the same amount of chopped basil, or if you’re feeling very proper, chiffonaded.

Now add your chopped shrimp back into the tomato cream sauce. Give it a stir and add salt and pepper to taste. Throw in your herbs and stir until combined. Finally add your cooked penne pasta and give it a good stir.

I hope you love it as much as I did!

Enjoy!!

Day 8!

Day 8- A photo that makes me angry/sad!

This picture will make you sad and angry. I hate all kinds of animal abuse, and I think that people should go to jail for a very long time for animal abuse! It should go the same way with human abuse. Here we go, get ready cause it's a bad one.

This dog needs fed, and it needs nourished, and it needs human LOVE! I feel so bad for dogs that get treated like this. Dogs don't really have a choice, they can't get away from their owner unless they run away. It just makes me cry every time I see stuff like this. I'm sorry I had to share this. People need to reach out to these kinds of dogs.

Day 7!

Day 7: A photo that makes me happy!

This photo makes me happy because it reminds me of the awesome times at the lake when I was a child. We still go to the lake every summer, but for some reason childhood memories seem like they were more fun for some reason. Maybe because when your a child you have no worries, and you can just have fun! I still have fun as an adult at the lake! Boating is the best!

Day 5!

Day 5: My Favorite Quote!

This was hard for me, there are so many good quotes that I like. But I have picked:

"I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. I believe that dreams are more powerful than facts, that hope always triumphs over experience, that laughter is the only cure for grief, and that love is stronger than death."

Day 4!

Day 4: My Favorite Book!

I almost forgot about this today, I have just been so busy today running all over town! Today's favorite is my book, or books. You are probably going to think I'm a total nerd when you see what book I chose, but I absolutely love this series.

Yes! That is the Twilight Series! I love all the books. I have to say that the very last book is my favorite of them all though. After all they do get what they both want and deserve.
No I am not one of those people that goes into the midnight premier of the movies dresssed like Bella. I also don't scream out when Jacob takes his shirt off. I think those people are crazy!

Day 3!

Day 3: My Favorite Television Program!

I watch a lot of reality TV and that is probably going to be one of my favorites. Although I do not watch much tv because I think I have better things to do than watch some show that people are acting like idiots and getting drunk all the time (Jersey Shore). I do like watching Jersey Shore though becasue I find it kind of amusing.

So my favorite TV shows:

This show is juicy!

Of course I had to put them! This show makes me laugh :)

I am not really sure why I watch this show. But for some reason I like it!

30 Day Blog Journal: Day 2

Day 2: My favorite movie

This one was a pretty difficult one for me just because I watch movies so much, we rent a movie almost every night from the redbox thing (Whoever invented that thing was a pure genius). You can't beat $1 a day for a movie!

This movie makes me laugh every. single. time I watch it, seriously funny. It's very inspirational too.

This is one of my favorites. I love Wizzard of Oz.

Day 1: My Favorite Song!

This is such a fun on for me, but it's hard because I have sooooo many that I love. I love music so much, but I can't sing worth beans. I will bust out a tune in the car or at at the house and someone will always say "good thing your not a musician". So, I always have to sing while I'm alone. But that's ok, I understand. Anyways, back to my favorite song.

The winner is:

This song gives me butterflies everytime I hear it. I absolutely love it.

A swift runner up was:

Yes, Shelli I just chose a MJ song! LOVE it :)

Have a great day everyone!

Oh, boy I'm back to blogging!!

Hello!

I know I have neglected my blog the past few months, but it was for good reasons. And wow do I have some updates and big changes for you all.

I have moved halfway accross the country... We made the long haul from Arizona all the way to Montana, and it took us 2 whole days! We were tired and the last thing we wanted to do was unpack. Well... Where did we move to you might ask?

The big city of Malta, Montana! Ok, so it's not that big, it's quite small actually; but I am having so much fun here. Enjoying the Big Sky Country!

This is a picture of the town so you can see what it really is like. I am trying to adjust to the small town life, but it is quite hard when the nearest Wal Mart is an hour and a half away! And no Target :(. I really do miss Target with all my heart.

And this, is our new home. It's a 3 bed 2 bath with a loft. The loft is our master bedroom. The kitchen has all new appliances and I just love the floors. This house is small but it is perfect for us for right now.
I better let you go for now. There will be more big things to come with this blog. I have a 30 day blog journal that I am going to start tonight or tomorrow. I got the idea from my great friends Shelli and Maura. I LOVE these two ladies with all my heart. They make me laugh so much. Back to the journal. It's a journal that you post of your favorite things each day. Stay tuned, it will great!
Love you all!
